We are now in a trade war with Canada because of the Trump tariffs. The White House says the tariffs are there to prevent drugs an immigrants from coming in from Canada, but it is widely reported that almost no drugs or immigrants come in from Canada.
So why is Trump doing this?
Tariffs against China might help bring some jobs back home, tariffs against Mexico might help with drugs and immigrants. But even in those cases, the harm caused by the tariffs, higher prices, and lost jobs might be worse than the cure.
It is simply not clear WHY Trump is attacking Canada this way. The idea that he wants war with them so we can take them over and get their minerals for Musk? Seems absurd.
But one things is clear: the mindless Canada attack is doing damage for no reason.

Make noise! March! Put up our posters. Call your elected officials; as always you folks in the red states have the most leverage.
